Technical Manager – Advanced HPDC
We are seeking a hands-on Technical Manager to lead technology development, pilot programs, and customer collaboration across automotive, aerospace, and other lightweight metal applications.
Key Responsibilities
Lead hands-on development and optimization of HPDC and semi-solid casting processes
Own die design, validation, and troubleshooting in collaboration with toolmakers
Perform and oversee flow & solidification modeling (MAGMA, FLOW-3D or equivalent)
Develop and validate process parameters for aluminum and magnesium alloys
Lead pilot runs and scale-up from R&D through prototype and pre-production
Support OEM / Tier supplier trials, technical presentations, and qualification efforts
Oversee automation and robotics integration within casting cells
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Materials, or Manufacturing Engineering
5+ years hands-on HPDC experience
Strong background in die design, gating, venting, and process optimization
Experience with casting simulation tools (MAGMA, FLOW-3D, or similar)
Exposure to robot programming / automation (ABB, FANUC, KUKA, etc.)
Proven ability to lead cross-functional technical teams
Preferred
Advanced engineering degree
Experience with semi-solid aluminum or magnesium casting
Background transferring processes from R&D/pilot to production
