The Middlebury College Summer Arabic School is pleased to announce a vacancy for a temporary Media Specialist. The position is available during the summer 2025 session (June 14 - August 16), located on the campus of Bennington College in Bennington, Vermont. Our unique 8-week program combines a cultural immersion environment with rigorous daily classroom instruction.
Overview: The Arabic School at Middlebury College is seeking a creative and dynamic Media Specialist to join our team. This individual will be responsible for capturing the vibrant life of the school through photography and videography, designing engaging visual materials, and maintaining an active presence on our social media platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Photography and Videography: Capture high-quality photographs and video footage of various school events including lectures, music nights, movie screenings, workshops, clubs, and classes.
Graphic Design: Create compelling posters and flyers for upcoming events, ensuring all materials align with the school’s branding guidelines.
Social Media Management: Actively manage and update the school’s social media profiles with photos, video clips, and posts that highlight school events and promote community engagement.
Content Creation: Develop and schedule regular content that reflects the school’s dynamic environment and educational offerings.
Event Promotion: Work collaboratively with other staff to ensure broad visibility and promotion of school events across multiple channels.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in photography and videography, including editing skills.
Strong graphic design skills with proficiency in design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar.
Experience managing social media accounts for a business or educational institution.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Passion for the Arabic language and culture is a plus.
