General Manager – Manufacturing Operations

Do you have a passion for leadership, driving operational excellence, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement? My client is looking for a dynamic General Manager to lead manufacturing operations at one of their key facilities across Hartsville, Athens, or Latrobe .

Key Responsibilities:

As the General Manager, you will lead and oversee the entire manufacturing process, including production , quality control , maintenance , shipping , and receiving . You will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations, driving safety and efficiency improvements, and guiding a talented team to meet company objectives.

Your key areas of responsibility include:

• Leadership & Team Development : Build a strong culture of accountability, employee engagement, and continuous improvement.
• Operational Excellence : Optimize production schedules to meet inventory levels and improve efficiency.
• Financial Management : Develop and execute plant manufacturing budgets while ensuring profitability and cost control.
• Quality Focus : Work closely with quality leaders to monitor trends and improve product consistency and scrap rates.
• Lean Six Sigma Implementation : Foster a Lean Six Sigma mindset across all operational areas to drive long-term performance.
• Safety & Compliance : Ensure a safe workplace while adhering to environmental laws and safety standards.

Qualifications:

• Education : Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred).
• Experience : 10+ years in manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a management role.
• Skills : Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Proven success in driving operational and financial performance.
• Business Expertise : Strong background in manufacturing systems, process control, and continuous improvement practices (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.).
• Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to inspire and lead cross-functional teams.
• Strategic Vision : Ability to think critically and develop long-term plans that drive success and improvement across multiple departments.
