Job Title: SAP EWM Consultant

Position Type: Contract

Location: Sunnyvale, CA (Onsite from Day 1, Hybrid Model – 3 Days Onsite)

Position Overview

Seeking a highly experienced SAP EWM Consultant to support a critical warehouse transformation initiative within its SAP S/4HANA environment. The ideal candidate will bring deep functional and technical expertise in both legacy SAP WM and SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM), with a proven track record in end-to-end implementations in complex, high-volume distribution environments handling serialized and batch-managed medical devices.

This role requires a hands-on consultant who can lead business process workshops, configure and test EWM solutions, and act as the central point of contact for all warehouse-related configuration, integration, and data migration activities. Success in this role demands strong collaboration across cross-functional SAP modules (MM, SD, PP, QM, FI/CO), the ability to document and train business users, and agility in adapting to evolving project priorities.

Key Responsibilities

Lead business blueprinting workshops with stakeholders from Warehouse, Shipping, and cross-functional teams.

Conduct As-Is/To-Be analyses and map end-to-end warehouse process flows.

Gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into best-practice SAP EWM solutions.

Perform hands-on configuration, development, and testing of SAP WM/EWM within S/4HANA.

Own the end-to-end design and delivery of EWM solutions, including integrations with MM, SD, PP, QM, and external systems (e.g., Kardex).

Serve as the single point of contact for all WM/EWM configuration, data migration, and issue resolution.

Design and implement warehouse master data, organizational structures, storage types, and process strategies (put-away, stock removal, replenishment).

Configure and optimize Handling Unit (HU) management, cartonization, Wave Management, PPF, and Quality Inspection Engine.

Support batch/serial tracking, kitting, project stock, and internal warehouse movements (e.g., staging, posting change notices).

Manage cycle counting, physical inventory, slotting, and warehouse reorganization processes.

Configure RF/ITS Mobile, Fiori apps, label printing, and scanner integration (RFID, 2D, linear).

Monitor and resolve daily EWM/WM queues, IDocs, and batch jobs.

Develop Functional Design Specifications (FDS) for custom ABAP developments.

Collaborate with security teams on role and authorization design.

Create and execute test plans, including integration and UAT support.

Document processes and train super users and warehouse staff.

Required Qualifications

10+ years of SAP experience, with deep specialization in Warehouse Management.

Minimum 2 full-cycle implementations in SAP WM with hands-on configuration.

Minimum 2 full-cycle implementations in SAP EWM (S/4HANA preferred).

Proven experience integrating SAP WM/EWM with Kardex or similar automated storage systems.

Experience in high-volume distribution centers managing batch- and serial-controlled products (e.g., medical devices, pharma, or high-tech).

Expertise in:

Warehouse master data & org structure

Complex storage types and BAdI-based strategies

Handling Unit (HU) lifecycle across inbound, internal, and outbound processes

Wave templates, cartonization, and warehouse order optimization

Quality Inspection Engine, quantity classifications, PPF

Integration points across LE/WM/MM with SD, PP, QM, FI/CO

LSMW, IDoc monitoring, batch job management

ABAP debugging, BAdIs, function modules, ALV reports

RF/ITS Mobile, Fiori, label printing, scanner technologies

Warehouse Activity Monitor and standard EWM reporting

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Transportation Management System (TMS) integration.

Exposure to SAP S/4HANA migration or greenfield EWM projects.

Knowledge of GxP or regulated industry warehouse compliance (e.g., FDA, ISO).
