Mainframe Business Analyst/SME IT L3

Location - Torrance, CA (Hybrid of 4 days/week onsite along with 1 day/week remote)

Contract Duration – September 2025 – March 31 2026 with strong possibility of an extension

Travel – 10% - ad hoc on an "as needed” basis – domestic throughout the U.S. (travel expenses will be reimbursable)

• We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst to serve as a Mainframe Systems SME and assist the Project Manager and/or Team Manager on various Parts Applications projects for one of our automotive clients. These projects will include the Texas Crossdock project . Assigned units of work vary from 100-hour enhancements, up to team members on a large project. Responsibilities will include the following: Analyze business requirements and create as well as manage the completion of units of work completed by themself and other team members.
• Gather requirements, functional and detailed analysis/design, testing (unit, integration, system, user acceptance), implementation, documentation, warranty.
• Define architectural solutions to meet application requirements.
• Provide status to Project Manager/Lead, as needed.
• Breakdown of Duties: Analysis/Design roughly 30-40%
• Development (code, unit test, int test, system test, UAT, Implement, Warranty) roughly 30-40%
• Architectural solutions roughly 20-40%
• Required Skills and Expertise: Must have strong proficiency in COBOL, CICS, JCL, IMS, VSAM, DB2, and System Development Life Cycle Concepts.
• Experience working with Microsoft development technologies such as .Net core, MVC.Net, and C#. Angular is a plus.
• Working knowledge of software engineering, software development, solution architecture.
• Experience supporting the implementation of medium to large scale systems across multiple platforms.
• Ability to collaborate with multiple disciplines across the enterprise.
• Solid understanding of technology strategy, technology standards, roadmaps, and practices.
• Technical aptitude of multi ‐ tier and cross ‐ platform architectures across the enterprise.
• Understanding in the information technology landscape ‐ stretching from infrastructure, network, client, server, emerging technology standards and trends.
• Experience working with both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
• Desired Skills and Expertise: Knowledge of Automotive Parts Systems, Warehousing and Supply Chain is a plus.
• Experience working with Angular is a plus.
