Job Description

A boutique multi-strategy hedge fund with approximately $5 billion in AUM is seeking a detail-oriented and intellectually curious professional to join its IR Operations team in Boston. The firm is known for its highly analytical, academic culture and has spent more than 30 years developing proprietary, value-based investment strategies for institutional investors including foundations, pension plans, and endowments.

Role Overview

This position sits at the core of the Investor Relations function, ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and operational excellence of all investor-facing processes and materials. Rather than focusing on capital raising or sales, the role is centered on execution, coordination, and infrastructure; supporting senior IR professionals and investment teams.

Compensation and Benefits

The firm offers industry-leading compensation and benefits, including a highly competitive base salary, annual bonus, profit sharing, and an exceptional 401(k) match. Benefits also include fully covered healthcare, daily catered meals, an on-site gym, and comprehensive wellness offerings such as massages and haircuts; all within a collaborative, Boston-based office environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain investor reporting processes, including performance reports, factsheets, presentations, and recurring investor communications
  • Manage IR data and systems, including CRM oversight, investor records, activity tracking, and reporting workflows
  • Coordinate responses to investor inquiries, DDQs, RFPs, and ad hoc data requests in collaboration with investment, risk, legal, and operations teams
  • Partner closely with portfolio managers and research teams to ensure investor materials accurately reflect strategy, performance, and positioning
  • Support the planning and execution of investor meetings, annual meetings, and firm-hosted events, primarily in Boston
  • Continuously improve IR operational processes, documentation, and controls to enhance efficiency and scalability

Ideal Background

Relevant experience in investor relations operations, client service, fund operations, or institutional asset management. A strong attention to detail, comfort working with data and systems, and the ability to manage multiple workflows simultaneously are essential. This role is well-suited for someone who enjoys being behind the scenes, takes pride in precision and follow-through, and values intellectual rigor over salesmanship. Familiarity with hedge fund strategies and institutional investor expectations is strongly preferred.
