Job Title: HIM Operations – Release of Information (ROI) Manager (On-Site – Contract-to-Hire)

Contract: 6 months (12/8/2025 – 6/5/2026), Contract-to-Hire opportunity

Job Description:

We’re hiring a Release of Information (ROI) Manager to oversee the daily operations of ROI services within The Johns Hopkins Hospital (JHH) . Reporting to the Director of HIM Operations, this leader will manage a team of 13 ROI staff, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and state/federal regulations, supervising vendor relationships, and serving as a Privacy Liaison under the direction of the Privacy Office. This position plays a key role in optimizing workflows, maintaining performance standards, and ensuring exceptional service across JHH and Bayview facilities.

Location:

• On-site, 5 days/week at 1800 Orleans St, Baltimore, MD 21287
• Occasional travel (1–2 times per week) to Bayview for vendor oversight
• Equipment provided
• HIPAA-compliant workspace required

Shift:

• Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST
• Estimated start date: December 8, 2025

Team & Scope:

• 13-member team: 1 Supervisor, 2 Leads, and 10 ROI Specialists
• Oversight of ROI operations at JHH (some ROI work outsourced to vendors)
• Liaison between HIM, Privacy, and Legal departments
• Responsible for handling patient requests, continuity of care, privacy concerns, and compliance
• The team is relatively new — most members have been with Hopkins for three years or less

Required Skills & Experience:

• Strong Release of Information (ROI) and HIPAA background
• Experience leading and developing teams
• Proficiency in Epic HIM modules
• Understanding of ROI workflows, policies, and procedures

Required Qualifications:

• RHIA credential required
• Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management (HIM) or a related field
• Must have 5-10 years of hands-on ROI experience
• Proven leadership experience in multi-facility HIM operations
• Strong communication, collaboration, and process improvement skills
