The ideal candidate must have a proven track record with a Commercial Construction company.

The ideal candidate will be a professional and a motivated self-starter with a minimum of 5 to 10 years. With a proven successful career as Director of Construction with small to medium commercial construction Company in Florida.

We are looking for an experienced Director of Construction to plan and supervise a wide range of Commercial construction projects from start to finish. You will organize and oversee construction, strategy, procedures and ensure they are completed in a timely and efficient manner. An excellent Construction Director must be well-versed in all construction methodologies and procedures and able to coordinate a team of professionals from different disciplines to achieve the best results.

The Ideal Candidate

Will have an analytical mind and great organizational skills. The goal will be to ensure all projects are delivered on time according to requirements and without exceeding budget.

Well versed in Design/Build, Design Assist, CM at risk types of projects

Experience with Health Care and AHCA

Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and direct complex design/construction tasks within a multi-project program.

Ability to drive projects to be completed on time and profitable

Responsibilities

• Lead project team consisting of Project Managers, superintendents, subcontractors. The individual selected for this role will lead the overall construction team and management strategy of commercial projects.
• Manage workforce of Project Managers and Superintendents
• Provide technical expertise on cost estimates, negotiate contracts and change orders, and establish project objectives. Actively engage in value engineering through all phases of design to ensure highest quality at lowest costs.
• Resolve field construction problems and change orders to minimize cost and schedule impacts.
• Maintain quality control of all drawings and confirm all details are accurate, consistent and up-to-date.
• Manage permitting process. Develop and recommend standard operating policies and procedures for all development and construction activities.
• Negotiate all vendor contracts. Stay current on regulations and construction technologies
• Sets and monitors goals for the overall team and tracks the financial performance of each project monitoring key metrics such as costs versus estimate, schedule versus plan, resource allocation and resource productivity, billing and collections, cash flow and profitability.
• Maintaining comprehensive project documentation to ensure all projects adhere to framework conditions and documentation requirements.
• Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques.
• Reporting and escalating issues to management as needed.
• Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
• Ensuring resource availability and allocation, managing materials, labor, and timelines effectively.
• Coordinating internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
• Managing the relationship with the client and all stakeholders, establishing and maintaining relationships with third parties/vendors.
• Performing risk management to minimize project risks.
• Establishing and managing a detailed project budget to track expenditures and ensure financial accountability.
• Direct and oversee construction projects from conception to completion while monitoring compliance with safety and building regulations.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other construction and building specialists.
• Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
• Implementing various operations through proper coordination and control of planning, design, estimating, contracting, and construction in the entire process.
• Developing the construction program and plans and defining the parameters for project execution.
• Provide preliminary project schedules.

Competencies, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Customer focus, business acumen, decision making, results driven, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills required.
• Strong MS Office Suite product knowledge required, strong Excel a must.
• An outgoing, driven, tenacious, team-oriented attitude is a must!

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in construction Senior Executive management or a leadership role within the construction industry.
• Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in construction management software. With experience with Red Team preferred
• Deep understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles.
