Job Description

Description We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Database Administrator (DBA) with extensive experience managing large, high-availability database environments across on-premises and cloud platforms. This role is critical for ensuring optimal database performance, security, and reliability. The Senior DBA will collaborate with development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to design robust database architectures, automate operational workflows, and mentor entry-level DBAs. Key Responsibilities + Install and configure Microsoft SQL Server instances and tools (SSMS, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS). + Set up new databases, servers, and related infrastructure. + Manage SQL Server clustering, replication, and high-availability solutions. + Monitor and maintain database performance, integrity, and security. + Perform regular maintenance tasks (index optimization, statistics updates, consistency checks). + Plan and execute database upgrades, patches, and migrations. + Troubleshoot database errors, bottlenecks, and performance issues. + Analyze query execution plans and optimize SQL queries. + Monitor system performance using SQL Profiler, Extended Events, and Performance Monitor. + Manage user accounts, roles, and permissions to maintain data security. + Audit database activities and maintain compliance with security standards. + Document configurations and generate reports for performance metrics and growth trends. Requirements Required Qualifications + Oracle and SQL certifications. + Proficiency in SQL Cluster, Always-On Cluster, and on-premises to Azure migrations. + Strong experience with SQL Server (2012-2019) and Oracle database administration. + Expertise in Azure Managed Instance, AWS RDS, Oracle RAC, RMAN backups, and Oracle Data Guard. + Knowledge of database security solutions, including Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) and STIG compliance. + Proficiency in Linux shell scripting and familiarity with AWS concepts for DBA operations. + Ability to troubleshoot performance issues and optimize SQL execution plans.
